After 3 years of efforts, the first Mine Detect and Rescue Robot was successfully developed by Shenyang Siasun Robot & Automation Co., Ltd.

And they introduced that the sound pickup device installed in the robot can detect the calling help sound, and the infrared imaging device can detect human’s body”. It is realized that this is the first time of combining the positive pressure explosion-proof technology, intrinsically safe explosion-proof technology with robot technology, by which we realize the functions of water, shake and explosion proof, and this fully meets the requirements of working under well. Toxic gas, pressure and temperature detectors were also installed in this rescue robot. The robot also can check the dangerous gas on-site to ensure the safety of rescuer. Through dual-voice transmission system, rescuers can know the trapped people’s information and surrounding environment, which will help them to build confidence. This robot adopts the fiber communication technology for the first time, which realizes the function of long-distance communication and real-time video signal transmission under well.

Colliery accidents frequently happen in our country due to bad nature conditions and high gas wells, said the researchers. In the past, secondary accidents were easily to happen because of the complex condition of mine roadway and toxic gas gathering. However, if we use robot in the real rescue work, we will get firsthand information and data about the accidents, which will increase the efficiency of rescue and minimize casualties and losses.
